Job Summary:
The Biomedical Technician is responsible for overseeing the overall operational condition, maintenance and repair of all water treatment equipment, all medical equipment and mechanical/electrical systems to ensure patient safety and the safety of all staff operating such equipment for their assigned clinic(s).
Education and Training:
- Associate in Applied Science degree in Biomedical Engineering or Electronics or military equivalent required.
Licensures/Certifications:
- AAMI/BMET certification required.
Experience:
- Preferred- 4 years of experience with medical electronic devices at circuit level.
Skills and Abilities:
- Be familiar with all emergency equipment and emergency operational procedures.
- Use appropriate safety measures including personal protective equipment as necessary.
- Be familiar with codes and OSHA regulations.
- Good communication skills
- Comprehends medical electronic equipment and systems to a degree to enable modification of existing systems as required
