Job Overview
The Associate Medical Writer works closely with the Account Lead on the Medical Services Team with planning, creating, proofreading, annotating, and managing scientific content for an assigned account(s) across a range of therapeutic areas, addressing different target audiences. Content could be delivered through a variety of print and digital formats, including newsletters, articles, slide presentations, executive summaries, eLearning platforms, and Web applications. The Junior Medical Writer will work closely with the Medical Director and Client Services Lead to provide clients with strategic medical communication recommendations that support the achievement of brand goals in the marketplace.


Responsibilities range from liaising with other team members for writing and other content-related tasks, such as conducting background research, fact-checking, and reference annotations to working closely with Medical Director and Account Leads to manage client projects and conferences. The desired candidate should be highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and strategic in practice. Strong communication, scheduling flexibility, timeline prioritization, PowerPoint proficiency, and keen attention to detail are essential skills for success in this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on assigned topics, fact-check, and secure references 
  • Support the Medical Services Team with strategic planning, developing, writing, and editing materials to meet deliverable milestones 
  • Provide onsite support at key client meetings or events in adherence with the standards and expectations of Red Nucleus 
  • Assist with client regulatory submissions into appropriate platform(s) and, if appropriate, join medical, legal, and regulatory review process
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, standards, and key medical topics and terminology to serve as a resource to internal and client teams 
  • Apply creative and critical thinking skills to resolve problems or issues in a variety of situations
  • Exhibit a professional image and demeanor; demonstrate adaptability and dedication to exceptional client service


Education, Experience, and Required Skills 

  • Advanced degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, nursing, or biosciences preferred. Undergraduate degree in related discipline with applicable combination of education and experience will be considered 
  • Entry-level or junior clinical content development and writing experience preferred
  • Strong writing skills and medical terminology knowledge, with a high level of attention to detail 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and, in particular, PowerPoint 
  • Strong organizational and timeline prioritization skills; scheduling flexibility to accommodate work volumes with the ability to manage multiple assignments 
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team 
  • Ability to travel overnight for business on an occasional basis (approximately 10%-25%) 
  • Potential for remote position or attendance to Yardley office
