Position Summary

Whitworth University is seeking a mission-driven and detail-oriented Assistant Director to lead recruitment and admissions efforts for our Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) programs. This role is vital to guiding prospective students from inquiry to enrollment while fostering a welcoming, faith-informed experience. In collaboration with program chairs, admissions committees, and campus partners, the Assistant Director contributes to the growth of Whitworth’s graduate health sciences programs and supports prospective students in pursuing their calling in healthcare.

Core Responsibilities

 Admissions & Recruitment | 40%

  • Coordinate the full admissions process for DPT and OTD programs, including application review, interview scheduling, and communication with applicants.
  • Manage prospective student data in Slate CRM, tracking the admissions funnel and generating reports to inform strategy and year-over-year trends.
  • Develop and update recruitment materials in collaboration with marketing; maintain communication with external stakeholders including students, families, and pre-health advisors.
  • Attend regional graduate fairs and outreach events to recruit students and build program awareness.
  • Manage social media accounts for both programs, ensuring timely, engaging content aligned with recruitment goals.
Prospective Student Advising & Onboarding | 30%
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective and admitted students, offering guidance on admissions requirements, prerequisite coursework, and program expectations.
  • Advise students on next steps post-acceptance and coordinate onboarding activities such as background checks and orientation communications.
Event Coordination & Campus Engagement | 20%
  • Lead the planning and logistics for admissions-related events, including open houses, interview days, and orientation.
  • Coordinate with campus partners (e.g., Financial Aid, IT, Library) to support a comprehensive onboarding experience.
Program & Administrative Support | 10%
  • Support program operations as needed by assisting faculty and serving as a liaison to internal committees, including representing the programs on the Graduate Committee.
  • Contribute to special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Core Competencies

  • Associate's degree. Whitworth considers candidates with a wide range of educational backgrounds. We value the skills and knowledge candidates bring to Whitworth, regardless of the paths they have taken to acquire them.
  • 1–3 years of experience in admissions, higher education, marketing, student services, or related fields. Relevant transferable experience from other settings will also be considered.

Preferred
  •  Admissions or marketing experience in higher education.
  • Experience using Slate CRM or similar systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership and event coordination abilities.

Schedule
Full-time (1.0 FTE) | 12 months | 40 hours per week
Whitworth office hours are 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday–Friday
