Carteret Community College is accepting applications for a full time 12-month, Administrative Assistant for the Health Sciences Division. Applications will be accepted until April 17, 2026. To apply, please fully complete the online application and attach a resume and cover letter. 

Duties include:

  • Perform administrative support for the division dean, department chairs, and faculty; as well as others in the College community as requested.
  • Assist division Dean and Chairs with program accreditation processes, reports and surveys.
  • Manage distribution and return of classroom instructional technology.
  • Fulfill multi-function copier requests for the division; maintain supplies and make requests for service.
  • Coordinate communication and documentation related to program admissions.
  • Schedule classrooms and revise course capacity and instructors as needed for each semester.
  • Manage curriculum and workforce & continuing education adjunct instructor requests, contract generation, distribution and reporting.
  • Submit work order requests for the division
  • Manage purchasing/travel procedures and assist with equipment/supply intake and distribution.
  • Manage administrative assistant fiscal budget.
  • Assist division faculty with use of technology, or refer to IT department, as needed.
  • Coordinate and perform tasks to support division and program events.
  • Maintain campus communication boards in the Wayne West Building to ensure accurate, timely, and relevant information for the campus community. 
  • Serve on College committees and task forces as assigned.
  • Attend required campus events including graduation, professional development, & employee meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Associate degree in business administration, or related field; or equivalent education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS: Three years of clerical or administrative work experience. Proficiency using word processing, presentation, publishing and work productivity applications. Intermediate level of technology trouble-shooting skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively across a variety of organizational levels. Preferred: Proficiency with Ellucian Colleague 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed primarily indoors, requiring light to medium physical effort.
